Jimmy Giuffre has passed, a bittersweet blessing considering the trajectory his life took in the last half decade thanks to Parkinson’s. I have much I could/should write, but sadly not the time to write it right now. Suffice it to say he was a giant and one of my most cherished musical spirits. “The Green Country” is probably my favorite Giuffre tune; a 3-minute reverie of preternatural beauty that I hope will play at my wedding and funeral. Rest in peace, Jimmy.

Posted by: lou panasi at April 28, 2008 8:54 AMDunno. You post something, and if you're patient it maybe shows up in the thread but the updates don't update on the main page.
Posted by: djll at April 29, 2008 3:48 PMSite problems continue to persist. It seems to be a scripting problem but the specific sources are elusive. Content shows up on our publishing software page, but is not reflected in the public pages for some reason. For instance, I have one blog entry (on Hindustani slide guitarist Debashish Bhattacharya), a ROW, and a review which still haven't been "published" on the main page.
Anyone out there have any expertise in Moveable Type publishing software? Please let me know. I've been troubleshooting with our server host and in several forums, but thus far to no avail. The server host techs are willing to take over, but for the princely sum of $95/hr.
I'm seriously thinking about throwing in the towel at this point. Life's too short to be dealing with these kinds of headaches.

Unless you're Jimmy Giuffre. (trying to get back on topic!)
