Why, right HERE @ the (relatively) new abode of Walto’s World, a MySpace page that houses his fledgling blog and a damn sight better set of digs than his previous office. I’ve mentioned repeatedly how much I miss Mr. Horn’s more formalized musings on music (ie. reviews) and now there’s a sliver of hope that he’ll return to that thankless enterprise with his site as forum. Fingers crossed. It also has the distinction of being one of the most frills-free MySpace pages I’ve ever seen; here’s hoping he succeeds in keeping the rabid wallpaper & ring tone solicitors at bay with those well-chosen Screwdriver samples.
Posted by derek on June 4, 2007 9:00 PMWhoa, Walto's myspace page features NURSE WITH WOUND as one of his friends! Zat right Walt? Didja send Steve a copy of Screwdriver?
Pretty psyched here because I get to open for Nurse With Wound this coming Saturday in Ghent with Onda & Berrocal
Tell you what, Dan. You let me open for Nurse and I'll give you his myspace add.
(Keep in mind I've got Schoenberg and Sun Ra as "friends" too--and they've both been dead for years.....)
Posted by: walto at June 5, 2007 10:17 AMWow! and I thought John Corbett had some "Heavy Friends".
Posted by: narew ramsh at June 5, 2007 10:53 AMArnold maybe (as you know Walt, I reckon he died about 1922 :), but Mister Ra's not dead - because, as he pointed out on numerous occasions, he was never born in the first place.
Seriously though (when am I never not), didn't realise you were a NWW fan.. I'll pass on your greetings to Messrs Stapleton & Tibet this weekend
hey dan could you mention that you'll be FACE TO FACE(!!!) with the LEGENDARY nurse with wound people again soon?
I mean, wow.
They suck live now, but who cares - YOU! get to share some backstage handshakes and maybe even namedrop the time you got to hand deliver a kechup packet to jim o rourke's russian lover.
(oof)

Posted by: uli at June 6, 2007 2:20 PMlooking forward to seeing you play here this weekend, Dan!
Posted by: David Bauwens at June 6, 2007 10:12 PMHey Horny, consider yourself kicked (in the cajones).
And speaking of kicks... Walt, when do the cd/lp reviews kick in over at Chez Walto?
Posted by: derek at June 7, 2007 7:06 AMThanks, Derek, but I doubt I'll write any more music reviews. I was a little tempted to write something about the Levine/BSO performance of Schoenberg's Moses und Aron a while back when Dan asked me, but as I resisted that, I think I'll probably be able to hold off forever. [Man, that was great, though.]
If it's any consolation, I'll get some book reviews in there occasionally, I reckon. But maybe nothing hip enough for this crowd. Not only am I farty, I've got other issues. Like today, e.g., I just put up something incredibly sappy--like a Hallmark Card almost: it just needs a pink rose or something.
BTW, I still didn't make your link list (even if, naked of music reviews as I am, I don't deserve to knock Brian O. off the top spot)!
Posted by: waltoc at June 9, 2007 3:54 AMI posted something for Brian Marley today.
Posted by: walto at August 21, 2007 8:44 AMWhere & what?
Posted by: derek at August 21, 2007 9:21 AMblog.myspace.com/waltosworld (to which I'd STILL love to see a link here at bag....)
Posted by: walto at August 21, 2007 9:39 AMDone & apologies for the delay. But when are you going to write about ME?
Posted by: derek at August 21, 2007 5:56 PMDone & apologies for the delay.
No problem; thanks much!
But when are you going to write about ME?
Hah. If you'd been reading as religiously as you should you'd know that I did talk about you in my blog of 8/15!
