Gotham Nights

Probably old news to most Bagatellen readers, but since we don’t yet have a formal link in place under the Points of Interest heading please allow me to offer a shout out about Steve Smith’s blog Night After Night detailing attempts to satiate a bottomless musical appetite in the city that never sleeps. Steve’s an editor at Time Out NY (TONY to those in the know), a classical music savant & one of the nicest guys I’ve met through the sometimes socially unpredictable circuitry of online bulletin boards. He posts periodically over at Jazz Corner, but is an all too infrequent visitor over to these parts, a situation I rub my well-worn rabbit’s foot nightly about hoping will change. I most recently have him to thank for hipping me to the DC Showcase series of Silver age comics reissues: B&W anthologies that offer wholesale nostalgia in phonebook-sized portions. The Metamorpho and Jonah Hex volumes are enroute & I’m seriously contemplating cracking the wallet again on the House of Mystery edition, sight unseen.
