
For January's listen, Jeff Gburek composes a four-part essay, sounds and soundbites comprising the message. Momentum & Mass is as much a stance as it is an object. The music here is arresting for its array of textures and amplitudes, and Gburek's capacity for production is of equal interest. The stereo geometrics chosen for the patterns agree with rates at which feedbacks oscillate. If only routine audiograms were as engaging. 24 minutes in length, Momentum & Mass is a viable medium for escape, recommended in open air. Finalized December, 2005.
